Six priorities for District 5. Specifics, not slogans.
Public Safety
District 5 residents tell me the same thing at the door: they want faster response times and streets that feel safe after dark. That means fully staffing our police and fire services and fixing the dark, poorly lit stretches along Mather Field Road, Zinfandel Drive, and the neighborhood streets off Douglas Road.
Recovery, Mental Health & Supportive Housing
Homelessness in our community is not simply a housing issue. It is a health issue. Without treatment and mental health care, a housing unit alone does not end the cycle. We need real recovery capacity, mental health clinics, and supportive housing with services attached so neighbors can stabilize and rebuild with dignity.
Smart, Responsible Growth
District 5 is where most of Rancho Cordova's new growth is happening, from the Sunrise and White Rock corridors east toward the new subdivisions. Homes are being approved faster than the roads, schools, and parks that families need to live around them.
Parks, Trails & Open Space
Families in the newer parts of District 5 are driving across town to find a working playground or a lit ball field. Our parks, trails, and open space are what make this a place people stay, and they need maintenance dollars, not just ribbon cuttings.
Schools & Youth
As the founder and Principal of a school, I know what after-school hours decide. When there is nothing for a middle schooler to do at 3 p.m., our whole city pays for it later. We should be partnering with Folsom Cordova Unified instead of working around it.
Local Business & Jobs
I have worked in family-owned businesses in Rancho Cordova for years, including the salvage yard industry with roots here going back over 25 years. I know what it costs a small business to wait months on a permit, and I know our industrial and service businesses are the ones hiring locally.
